Little bit of Paris!
It has been far too long my friends! As many of you know, we have been living in Paris for the last month and we have really grown fond of our little 'french' life. Every day that goes by, I think we both get a little more comfortable in understanding the norms and embracing our lifestyle here.
It has taken some serious getting used to, but we are are currently living on the 6th floor of a walk up... in a 240 sq ft. apartment. (And believe it or not, we hosted two guests.. it's a good thing we love you guys!!) We are living on the east end of Paris in Belleville and are efficiently eating our way through many pastries & baguettes to find our favourite boulangerie (I have a running tally). For now, I've added a few shots of lovely Paris but have many (many!) more to share in the near future.
In addition to the sweet side of our travels, we have been in Paris through a very historic and eye-opening time with the shootings and attacks on the Charlie Hebdo offices. It has been very insightful to learn and understand this attack & how deeply rooted freedom of expression is & how this was an attack on the 'heart' of France. In addition, to see how the people of Paris have come together with millions showing up to the Unity March with such a sense of community and passionate response.
Well, we are on the last few weeks of our travels and are really looking forward to getting back to a routine in YYC. Can't wait to see everyone!
Bisous, Bisous xx
