Words fail us in describing how perfect this day was… This pair eloped in the beauty of the Canadian Rockies and we are so honoured that they brought us along to document what turned out to be a truly magnificent day. Tim, being a pilot himself, had mused about flying Megan away for their elopement but in the end, decided that drinking champagne on his wedding day was pretty important too (and we fully agreed).

And so, they decided the next best plan was to hire a helicopter in Canmore, Alberta to take them to a stunning + remote spot in the mountains. The flight was our first experience in a helicopter, and it was pretty amazing but truthfully, the whole day was an experience like no other. Their mountain elopement was so completely carefree with no worries about timelines or expectations, and it was also so raw and emotional. There’s something about the intimate setting in nature that allowed everyone to be in the moment and really ‘feel’ the evening. (Cue ‘Can you feel the love tonight by the Lion King…)

Cheers to our pilot as we couldn’t have found a more beautiful space for the ceremony as the sun was just peeking above the ridge. Afterwards we all celebrated with a delicious charcuterie spread that Megan prepared and a little more bubbly for good measure.

After landing back in Canmore, Megan + Tim realized they forgot to read their letters from one another. It wasn’t planned and it wasn’t the most stunning background that day… but witnessing the emotion as you guys read those letters was pretty special - and easily one of our favourite parts. I know we’ve said it a few times already, but we are SO happy for you guys and were absolutely honoured to be your ‘unofficial’ Maid of Honour and Best Man (Oh yea, and your photographers too...)
