We receive a lot of inquiries asking if we photograph weddings in the city as well. The answer is yes. A resounding YES. Truthfully around half of our weddings are within an urban setting. From Calgary to Edmonton, Kelowna, Vancouver, Victoria… well, you get the idea. Admittedly we haven’t done the best job at sharing these inner city weddings and so we thought we’d change that, starting with Linny + Wade’s beautiful wedding at Rouge Restaurant.

It’s well noted how much we love adventuring in the Canadian Rockies, but urban weddings are such a nice contrast. We love exploring the different textures and lines that come with the varied architecture. Dynamic light keeps us inspired as it changes from street to street and the energy that comes with being in a city is so much fun + uplifting.

Linny + Wade are the cutest and their wedding was the pefect representation of them. It was quirky + timeless and absolutely filled with so much joy. These two held their wedding ceremony in Rouge’s stunning garden space. It was such an intimate setting, surrounded by flowers, veggies and honeybees flying around doing their thing. A perfect backdrop to their heartfelt vows.

Rouge is such a great venue as it’s so close to the Bow River and so many amazing spots within Inglewood. This was our former neighbourhood and so we might be a little biased (but it’s totally our favourite community in Calgary!) The historic buildings, beautiful green spaces and fun, eclectic energy all blend together to make the magic. Uhm, and can we talk about Linny’s dress?! It was absolute perfection.

As the evening progressed, dinner and speeches were held outside in the garden tent. The lighting created a warm and romantic atmosphere as the sun went down. From start to finish it was such a beautiful day and we were so honoured to be there to capture it all.
