A definite highlight from last year was Shaleza + Khaleel’s absolute heart-expanding wedding last Spring. 2022 was such an incredible wedding season and this celebration really set the tone for the rest of the year. The love and joy between these two and their families was so tangible (…pretty sure we can still hear Shaleza and her adorable laugh!)

We began the 4 days of celebration with Shaleza’s Mendhi and then headed over to Khaleel’s Pithi. Immediately, at both events we felt the best energy and warm vibes. Everyone was so excited, there was definitely a buzz in the air. The next day was their Puro Ceremony at the White Diamond Event Centre in downtown Calgary. Before the ceremony, we wandered the streets downtown Calgary for portraits (despite what we may put out there... we really love photographing weddings in the city - so many lines and textures to work with!)

Shaleza and Khaleel chose to exchange vows privately early on the day of their wedding. It was such a beautiful and intimate moment to be a part of (with some of the most thoughtful, well-written vows we’ve ever heard). Their wedding ceremony at Bearspaw Golf Course was stunning… the weather, the design, the people. Just perfect! After a little mid-wedding surprise haircut (no big deal!! haha) the Reception came next. The look on Shaleza’s face during the room reveal tells it all (amazing job Dani and to all the vendors involved - this room was next level!)

Thank you again for inviting us into your homes. For sharing your joy, your tears (your haircuts) and you most intimate moments with us. Thank you for letting us celebrate with you and attempt to capture the essence of what made everything soooo amazing. SO happy for you both and happy (almost) first anniversary!
